Language Arts in grades 6-8 is based primarily on reading and responding to literature. We use the Prentice Hall series for our literature anthology and have access to wonderful novels, both classic and contemporary!

- using mentor texts to model good reading and writing strategies
- learning through mini-lessons that will give us "tools for our toolboxes" as we move on to become stronger readers and writers
- working with reading partners and/or book clubs as we read and respond to literature
- working with writing partners to develop our writing voices and our writing style
